A native of Cleveland, Ohio, that is where David has lived since he was born there in 1969 – or rather, it is where he used to live until he moved to Austin in April 2012 to be with the woman he loves, Kate. David earned his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at Cleveland State University, and he has been a “computers” guy for most of his life. Born with cerebral palsy, David is quadriplegic and uses a visual tracking device connected to his computer that allows him to “speak” digitally.

One evening, when he was talking with Kate and her father and stepmother (who is an artist), they mentioned a handicapped man who painted with his foot. David said that he had painted with his head when he was a child. They asked him why he stopped, and David says, “I didn’t have a good answer! So, they bought me paint and brushes and helped me get set up. They fixed a special headband for me to use.” That was in January 2014.
